Families’ Affairs Of Disabled Persons (Director: M Ayub)

Besides other difficulties disabled people face difficulty in family affairs too. In Pakistani cultures most of the marriages are arranged and usually arranged in the ones owns family / tribe. But non-disabled relatives hesitate to accept marriage proposal from disabled persons. In such situation we believe its one of very important issue of our disabled community and at DWA we try our best to support our disabled sister and brother in match making, marriage counseling and financial support for weddings of disabled persons.

So DWA assigned this duty to Ayob Bhai and he deal these issues every Saturday at DWA office. So far he was able to make match for 41 physical challenged persons, 8 blind persons, 34 deaf persons and 2 mentally retired persons. All the record of this activity is available with us.

This match making service is only for disabled person, there is little nominal fee of Rs.500/- for registration and no other fee of any charges. There are some example that some disabled persons proposal for non disabled person accepted as Ayob Bhai is good in counseling and believe in equality. He not only helps them in match making but also support and shoulder during pros and cons in the marriage life of newly marriage coupled. He shares their happiness and sorrow and always ready to listen and advice in the benefit of the disabled person families.
