Launching Ceremony
This year Disabled Welfare Association (DWA) celebrated International Day of Disabled People (IDDP) on 2nd and 3rd December. DWA is focusing on economic rehabilitation of PWDs and United National also announced related theme "decent work for Persons with disabilities" for IDDP - 2007.
On 2nd December DWA inaugurated "mobility workshop" once again a unique project for PWDs. In this workshop we will assemble specially designed accessible motor bikes, and also offer repair service. And the uniqueness of this workshop is that staff will consist mostly PWDs.
Workshop was inaugurated by Mr. Sohial Wajahat Siddiqui - Chief Executive Siemens Pakistan, Mr Fareed Ahmed Yousfani Project director lines Area 'Syed Hasnad Mausood Director communication Telenor , Kashif Hafeez Assistant Manager Corporate Responsbility , Zia ul Hassan Zubairi Admin officer ,Siemens Dr Tanveer Ahmed Executive Co ordinator HANDS Mrs. Hijab Manzar Social Welfare officer, Mr. Ghulam Nabi Nizamani vice chair DPI-AP, special guest Mrs. Juddy from Canada as well as Mr Rous Project Director of Mobility Workshop and President of DWA Mr Javed Rais also graced the inauguration ceremony on the evening of 2nd December.This Program Started with Recite of holy Quran and Compare was Lal Mohammad Baloch on Wheelchair approximately700 person with disabilities are participant from all over the Pakistan in this program which was the First Mobility Workshop in the world and was historical movement for the person with disabilities of Pakistan (PWDs) and second day the electronic and print media give it full coverage
